This guide takes a new shop from sign-up to the first sale. Most shops finish it in under an hour.
1. Create your account
- Go to Get Started and enter your name, business name, email and a password.
- We email you a code. Type it in to confirm your email address.
- You start on a 14-day free trial with every feature switched on. No card is needed.
2. Set up the business
Open Settings in the menu and fill in Business Information:
- Business name, address and phone — these print on every receipt.
- VAT number and VAT rate. With a VAT number your A4 documents say "TAX INVOICE".
- Business Logo — prints on receipts, tax invoices and quotations.
- Bank Details — shown on invoices so customers can pay by EFT.
Tip: the receipt footer ("Thank you for shopping with us") is set here too.
3. Add your products
See Adding products. You can add them one by one, or import a whole price list from a spreadsheet.
4. Add your staff
See Staff, roles and who can sell. Each person gets their own sign-in, so every sale shows who made it.
5. Open a shift and sell
- Open Cash Register and start a shift with the float in the drawer.
- Open Point of Sale, scan or tap products, and press Pay.
- At closing time, close the shift and count the drawer — see Shifts and cash-up.
6. Install the till on your counter computer
For a counter that must keep selling when the internet drops, install the Windows desktop till — see Installing the desktop till.
